iFEEL students are part of a unique learning experience; the "Global Citizen Leader" (GCL) designed by Leadership Beyond Boundaries (LBB), a global initiative by the Center for Creative Leadership (CCL); which is amongst the best educational institution in the world. CCL trains Fortune 500 companies across the globe. Training on Innovation led Entrepreneurship by Faculty from Malardalen University every year. The program provides students with leadership and innovation led knowledge along with an opportunity to learn and practice skills in a real-life context.
In 2012 the GCL theme was "Making Social Impact". iFEEL and its students received national recognition for the initiative and won two awards:
AIMS Dr Dharni P Sinha Social Responsibility Award for the Social Impact projects at the national level and
AIMS Innovation Award Gold Medal, for students that worked on a project involving Increasing health standards for children in local schools (Nutrition and Hygiene)
During the GCL activity there are various contests that takes place. This year students of the team who won the GCL activity got a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to meet Mr. Kishore Biyani
at 'Chai Pe Charcha
'. This year GCL program moves one step ahead and will be working with leading corporate on “Opportunity Spaces” that have the potential to impact their business, connect with stakeholders or sustainable corporate social responsibility initiatives. The program is also aimed at developing the personal skills of students to work more collaboratively, take lead and act in a vulnerable, uncertain, complex and ambiguous (VUCA ) world.
Some of the leading corporate that students groups worked with as part of this program are : Future Group, Wockhardt Foundation, Perfetti Vans Melle, Bank of India, India First Insurance and Panoramic Group. The program provides students with leadership and innovation knowledge. Since Learning by Doing is found to be most effective, the GCL program is designed for students to apply what they learn from the management program and the GCL training real-time corporate opportunities. By the end of the program students would have initiated research, spoken to stakeholders, gathered several insights and identified potential solutions.
The journey does not stop here though. The big differentiation is students have to develop prototypes of the product, process or experience, actually test it and then pick the one that they believe is most impactful and viable. Thus spread over 4 months, the successes of the GCL program will reflect in the way student are able to think, collaborate, act and lead not only as individuals but also in groups.
